Where the Rêveur is soft lines and Palais Royal dreaming, Laureate is all Wedgwood-inspired. Every coin was drawn in the pale blue and white I have loved since I first started our Wedgwood-inspired line with Lady and the Harp. The Laureate is finished differently too: a matte antiquarian gold rather than a polished shine, so she looks less like something new and more like something inherited.
THE DESIGN
Étui Laureate comes with two rings: a plain matte band, and the decorative laurel wreath ring that has both circled Wedgwood's finest pieces and adorned the heads of Roman poets and victors. The Laureates.
Meanwhile, the lid bears a finely etched daffodil, symbolizing rebirth, optimism, and new beginnings.

THE COINS
Coin No. 1 — A New York Story
The magnolia goes back to the very beginning: the first flower I noticed after I moved to New York City, so full and unlikely I stopped mid-sidewalk just to look at it. The blue jay is newer. This year, on my birthday, I woke early and took my son out for our first walk of the day in Central Park, and a blue jay landed close enough to really see, feathers catching the early light. It felt lucky in a way, fairly special.
Two New York mornings, years apart, on one small coin. The city gave me the flower before I had roots here. It gave me the bird after I'd grown some.
Coin No. 2 — Telle Est La Vie
Obverse, a tall ship under full sail, circled by the words "Telle est la vie." Such is life. Reverse, a lighthouse keeping watch over the rocks. One side is the voyage. The other is what guides you home from it.
Coin No. 3 — Musical Grace
Two of the pieces closest to my heart, shrunk to an unbelievably petite size. Obverse, the Lady & the Harp, dressed in the same devotion as the original. Reverse, the Dancing Three Graces, the design that sold out in a matter of days the first time I released the stamp, now smaller, and just as detailed.
Coin No. 4 — Nothing by Chance
Obverse, a grand horse caught mid-stride, mane windswept. Reverse, a line in calligraphy circling the coin's edge: "Beautiful forms and compositions are not made by chance."
Coin No. 5 — Alea Iacta Est
Obverse, a cameo profile in the old Roman style, ringed by the words "Alea iacta est." The die is cast. Reverse, a delicate floral frame to adorn miniature photographs, dry-pressed leaves, and more.
